The Shires of Vermont DMO is rolling out a campaign to encourage locals to Shop Early, Shop Safe. Shoppers can visit any participating regional business and for EACH $100 spent at the location, they get a $10 discount that is applied immediately to their purchase. (ie: A customer spending $200 would qualify for two discount cards.) Each participating business will have a limited number of discounts to give, so Shop Early, Shop Safe! The campaign starts on November 20 and a list of participating businesses will be available at shiresshopper.com. The campaign will be promoted by advertising on radio, local media, and digitally.
For Businesses
Participation is limited to the first 50 businesses to sign up.
Your business must be located in the Bennington County region to participate.

Your business will get at least $100 from this campaign to support your sales.
Once you have signed up, you will receive a point of sale sign about the program, a poster for your door, and a digital version of the poster that you can use on your social media. You will receive a minimum of 10 numbered discount cards with a value of $10 each. More discount cards will be distributed depending on the final number of participating businesses and any additional donations or funds applied to this campaign.
To use the discount, you need to fill out the back of each coupon for $10. Please indicate the total amount of the sale (ie: $112.50, or any amount $100 or over), write in the name of the customer who is receiving the discount, cell phone number, and email address. Please check the box if they would like to have us use their information for occasional future promotions from The Shires of Vermont DMO. Customer information will not be sold or used otherwise.
IMPORTANT: Once you have used your last discount card, you must contact The Shires DMO using the form located at shiresshopper.com/business to let us know you are out so our list can be updated.
TO REDEEM: Simply mail or bring your numbered discount cards to the chamber and you will receive a check for the full value of those cards within 7 business days.

This program was made possible through COVID Relief Funds provided by the Agency of Commerce and Community Development. The Restart Vermont Regional Marketing and Stimulus Grant Program through ACCD provided grants to organizations for efforts and activities related to economic recovery, consumer stimulus, marketing, or tourism related projects to support businesses that have suffered economic harm due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The grants are intended to enable local, regional, or statewide organizations to implement campaigns and initiatives that will increase consumer spending, support local businesses, and advance community recovery efforts.
Eligible applicants included downtown organizations, chambers of commerce, regional development corporations, municipal economic development/community development departments and committees, local community/economic development organizations, statewide business organizations, or other similar groups.
